Start with the way you use your waterfront
A place to keep a boat, a quieter spot to sit or easier access to the water: describe the outcome before deciding on a structure. Warren Marine’s project photographs can help you explain an idea. Each property still needs its own review.
Use the lake’s official planning resources
Greenwood County Lake Management handles encroachment permits and shoreline management for Lake Greenwood. Its guidance covers structures such as docks, ramps and retaining walls. Use the county’s current information when preparing your questions, including for lakefront properties in Laurens and Newberry counties.
Bring a useful first set of details
Share the town or community, the existing structures and what you want to change. Add any surveys or approval documents you already have. Wide photographs taken from a safe location help explain shore access and the relationship between the house, dock and water.
